Being a photographer has allowed me to meet new friends who would have otherwise remained strangers. Plus, I get the opportunity to help others express themselves through my work. I try to capture their true essence in the photos I take.
I've worked the last nearly 30 years as a Photographer, Video Producer/Cameraman/Editor, and Broadcast Journalist. I've photographed in several countries around the world and have made many friends along the way all while capturing images of places I may never get to again.

Darren T. Melton, the owner of Melton Photography, has been taking photographs professionally since 1983, when he was on the newspaper staff at McMinnville High School. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and attended Broadcast Journalism School, Defense Information School (DINFOS) in Indiana, after which he was assigned to the USS Belleau Wood LHA-3, home-ported in San Diego, CA. Darren continued with photography and video production after 5 years in the Navy, working with small production companies in Reno and Carson City, Nevada.
During his career, Darren has photographed in 3 continents, 7 foreign countries, and 19 US states.
Darren, his wife, Beth, and their family have recently moved back to the Pacific Northwest after living in the Reno, Nevada area for 20 years. He is based out of his hometown, McMinnville, Oregon.
